Welcome to the Flume Award wiki. We will use this page to discuss the nominations for the Flume Award.

Titles must be nominated by teens in grades 7-12, can be fiction or nonfiction books, with appeal to this age group. They must have a publication date within the last two years (no older than 2016). If the book is part of a series, it must be able to stand alone, meaning a reader doesn't have to read the other books in the series to understand what's going on.

We invite you to comment on these nominations. Please click on a title of a book that you wish to discuss and you will come to a discussion page. Click the tab that says "Edit this page" and begin typing your comments. Please include your name and library-if you only want to put your first name, that's fine. After you have finished, hit "Save." We especially welcome your input in terms of whether you think the book will appeal to teens in grades 9-12, or 7-8, whether it appeals to boys and girls, and how it compares to other works of the same genre. If it is part of a series, please say whether you think the book stands alone. Also, please let us know if you think it should or should not be on the "final 10" nominated list.

In the past, the selection committee has chosen to include titles that also appear on the Isinglass list. The committee recognizes that a book can appeal to both age groups.

UPDATE: When you click on a title, you will get to the discussion page for that book. The title on the discussion page is linked to its NHU PAC entry, where you can see the book's cover and read reviews if you wish.

UPDATE: As the Flume and Isinglass committees (and wikis!) are being combined, I am marking each book with an F and/or an I to designate whether (according to reviewing media) it appears to be most appropriate for the Flume, the Isinglass or both. Feel free to add your own comments!
